Solid Start

The Legends opened up their season with a solid team performance and a win against West Seneca West 77-38. Lancaster jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead but after a timeout West Seneca was able to calm things down and battle back. The 1st quarter was back and forth with a number of lead changes which saw Lancaster trailing at the end of it 18-17. Joe Harrington and Channing Francis combined for 15 or Lancaster's points in the quarter.

The 2nd quarter saw the Lancaster defense pick up the intensity which led to a number of turnovers. Guards Noah Kimble, Ryan Andolina and Eric Frys were able to turn those steals into points by pushing the ball up quickly and finding open players. Frys scored all 8 of his game points in the 2nd quarter and Lancaster took a 36-24 lead going into halftime.

In the second half Lancaster did not let up outscoring West Seneca West 41-14 over the last two quarters. The Legends had a balance scoring attack with 8 different players scoring. The Legends were able to dominate on the boards with Jack Harrington, Kimble and Francis each grabbing 7 rebounds. As the Legends extended their lead each player who came off the bench kept the intensity up and made contributions to the team victory. Adam Gabryszak came in and scored all 9 of his points in the 4th quarter. Joe H. led all scorers with 22 points and added a team high 5 assists. Kimble finished with 11 points 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Jack H. added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Francis and Gabryszack each scored 9 points. Frys had 8pts, Andolina 4pts, Mark Sirianni and Max Stoldt each scored 2 points.

The balanced team scoring and defensive intensity led to a 77-38 victory for the Lancaster. Next Lancaster will meet Depew for the Tipoff Tournament Championship on Friday at 7:00 pm.
