Seniors set the tone

Senior night is always an emotional game. In most cases it will be the last time the Senior players will get to play on their home court. This year it seemed a little more special because these players weren't even sure if they would get the opportunity to play at all. The Seniors certainly came to play last night as West Seneca West came to town. Mike Ludwig, who was getting his first start, set things off early as his first shot splashed home from way beyond the arc. The Legends quickly jumped out to a 7-0 lead. West was able to battle back but Lancaster still held a 16-13 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter Lancaster was able to cause a lot of turnovers and extended their lead 31-26 going into halftime. Some sloppy play from Lancaster allowed West to take a lead early in the 3rd quarter but Jackson Jerebko wasn't about to let West ruin Senior night. He responded by scoring the games next 12 points. He was locked in and hitting shots from all over the court. He scored 15 points in the quarter and had Lancaster ahead 51-40 by the end of the 3rd. The Legends rode that momentum and finished the game strong, winning 67-51. Jerebko finished with a team high 27 points and 8 rebounds. Channing Francis had 13pts and 5rebs. Jason Mansell again filled up the stat sheet with 6pts, 7rebs, 7 assists and 6stls. Dominic Fulciniti added 5pts and 6 assists. Noah Kimble also had 5pts. Adam Bagley added 4pts, Mike Ludwig had 3pts, Matt Jandzinski and Jaydon Brittingham each had 2pts. The Legends next game is Thursday against Williamsville North. It is a big game for playoff seeding as the Legends are looking to jump into a tie for 6th seed with a win.
