Senior Profile: Matt Jandzinski

Every season there is an underclassman who sort of flies under the radar. A player who may not get talked about a lot but when you watch them play you can see the potential. Last season, for me, Matt was that player. Watching him play I could see the talent and knew his Senior year he would have a big role. He may be quiet and unassuming but underneath lies a sharp shooting assassin.

Last season Matt was part of the Class AA Sectional champions team. While he may not have shown up on the stat sheet every game, when he was in you noticed. The game never looked to fast or to big for him. This season Matt has stepped into a starting role and plays many different positions. With Matt's versatility he is able to play guard but also able to go down low and play in the paint. Matt has developed into a solid defender as he leads the team in blocked shots and is among the top in steals. However, Matt seems most comfortable outside the arc. You often see him lurking around the 3 point line waiting to strike a dagger into the opposing team. Matt's talent extends beyond the court and onto the baseball field. After last baseball season was cancelled because of the pandemic Matt is really looking forward to play his Senior year. Coach Otto said, "Matt is a multisport athlete who lets his game do the talking. He doesn't let his emotions get to high or to low. This allows him to perform under pressure."

Whether on the court or the field Matt will let his work speak for itself. Seeing the success he has had in both I am positive his career work will speak the same.
