Senior Profile: Dominic Fulciniti

There has been a Fulciniti on the basketball team every season since 2015. Dominic is the last of a trio of brothers who have played for the Lancaster basketball team. Like his brothers (Vito and Gianluca) Dom is helping to elevate the Lancaster program. Last season was a special time for Dom and the Fulciniti family as he was able to share the field and the court with his brother Gianluca. It was made even more special by both the football and basketball team winning Sectional titles.

Dom is a fiery player who brings a lot of passion and competitiveness to the game. On the football field Dom uses his length and reach to be a deadly threat as a WR. With him on the outside catching passes the football team won a fourth straight Sectional title. On the basketball court he uses those same attributes to be a dual threat. Offensively Dom has a long, quick first step that allows him to blow by most defenders and get to the basket. When defenders are lucky enough to stop him from driving he is more than capable of stepping back and knocking down deep 3's. Defensively Dom's wide receiver instincts kick in and he uses his length to get his hands on a lot of opposing passes.

Last season Dom was a key element in helping Lancaster basketball win the Section 6 Class AA title. The chemistry between him and his brother was fun to watch. Dom's competitiveness and hate for losing fueled the team. It also helped them win the Jim Palmer Tournament last year as Dom sank a free throw with 1 second left to win the championship game. This season he is following in both of his brothers footsteps and leading the team in assists, just like they did. His ability to draw in defenders and his court awareness have led to many open baskets for his teammates. Coach Otto said, "He is a very passionate player. He wears his heart on his sleeve and he doesn't like to lose". If Dominic carries that kind of passion with him into his professional career he will accomplish great things.
