Coach Otto gets his 100th

After sitting on 99 wins for the last 5 games Coach Otto was able to celebrate his 100th win last night with a 53-48 victory over Williamsville North. The game didn't start off great for the Legends, as they fell behind 6-0 and trailed 14-12 at the end of the 1st. Lancaster's offense looked sharp in the 2nd quarter. They had good, quick ball movement that led to a number of open buckets. They were crashing the offensive boards and getting many second chances. Lancaster had balanced scoring in the 1st half which allowed them to take the lead going into half time 26-23. In the 2nd half it was much of the same. The Legends played unselfish basketball and moved the ball around until they found the open man. While Lancaster never got their lead above 8 points it never felt like they were in trouble of losing the game. They played poised down the stretch even when the Spartans cut the lead to 3 late in the game. The Legends got a lot of Senior leadership in what proved to be a very special night for Coach Otto and the basketball program. Jackson Jerebko led the way with 16pts and added 6 rebounds. Channing Francis scored 11pts while grabbing 9rebs. Jason Mansell scored 10pts and had 6rebs. Ryan Merz added 6pts and Dom Fulciniti scored 4pts and grabbed 5rebs. Matt Jandzinski, Noah Kimble and Jaydon Brittingham each scored 2pts.

Getting to 100 wins is no easy feat. It is something that comes with a lot of time and effort being put in to build a program. It isn't something you can simply rely on great players to achieve. It is a building of a culture that won't accept losing and will work hard to elevate the program. That is what Coach Otto has done at Lancaster. This victory wasn't just for this team or Coach Otto, it was for every player that has put on the Lancaster jersey that helped him get there. Congratulations Coach!
